Cheers to five years!

Happy Birthday to the B-man. All he wanted for his birthday was a "buzz cut" but we settled on a "faux-hawk," which mama is most happy about.

Of course that's not the only present he received; I'd say this year was the year of sport as he ended up with paraphernalia from almost every sport out there: soccer, lacrosse, baseball, basketball and golf!

We joined forces with two other families from preschool and did a joint birthday party at the YMCA; the kids had a blast!

Brady is growing like a weed and becoming more independent by the day. It's sweet and sad and fun and challenging all at the same time.

Spring!

Thankfully, there is no longer snow on the ground. We've had some beautiful days but still have the damp, wet days of spring ahead of us. (April showers = May flowers!) I'll let the pictures do the talking. Life is good and full and busy and fun.

March on!

The kids' winter break was last week so we took a few days off and headed north to ski. We were lucky enough to spend one fun-filled day on the mountain (and at the alpine park) but then we opted to hang at the water park and bop around downtown North Conway. It was a great getaway and we'll definitely go back again next year.

This week, I celebrated my birthday. The kids and Andrew made dinner and baked a carrot cake from scratch; it was delicious! Another year in the books and I am thankful as ever for my health and my family and friends. #lifeisgood

The reason for the season!

We've had a pretty mild winter so far, a couple minor snow storms but nothing to write home about. But that hasn't stopped us from hitting the slopes and "shreddin' some powdah!" The kids take ski lessons on Wednesday nights (under the lights) and Andrew has taken a few day trips to Pat's Peak, which is a great, family-friendly mountain about an hour away from our house. Abby has now been skiing for four years and is getting quite good; Brady just started last year but can hold his own and pretty much keep up with the rest of us. (The smile on Andrew's face during it all is priceless! #proudparent)
